Tipperary Station School is a primary school only. It provides Transition to Year Six education for the children of residents of Tipperary Station. The school currently has one teacher (the Teaching Principal) and a teacher's aide, and in the past five years the enrolment has ranged from 8 to 20 pupils, with a long-term average of about 14 pupils.

The school has two classrooms, an office, and well-maintained grounds, as well as access to other sporting facilities. The school is well-resourced, with an interactive whiteboard, six computers, a small library, and a new playground.

Parents who are considering employment at Tipperary Station are most welcome to discuss the educational needs of (or educational options for) their child or children, and should contact the Teaching Principal on 08-8978 2765. When parents have accepted a position they should inform the school as soon as possible of their planned arrival date.

Please remember, children can only commence school the day after their enrolment forms are received by the school. Entry is strictly according to the age of entry policies of the NT Department of Education. Children who are five years of age by June 30 th may begin school on the first day of the school year. Children who are five years of age after June 30 th will commence school on the first day of the next school year. History
Tipperary Station School was founded in 1977, and is one of the only remaining “cattle station schools” of the many which existed across the Territory during the 60s and 70s. Because of its scale, Tipperary Station is unique in the number of employees and this has enabled the school to remain viable over time. During Term 4, 2009, we will complete a special art project to commemorate the school’s achievement of its 30th Anniversary.

Teaching and Learning
Tipperary Station School's teaching program is based on the Northern Territory Curriculum Framework. It includes guided reading, and the Count Me In Too maths program. There is an emphasis on explicit teaching, hands-on learning, and a balance between whole class, small group and individual activities.

Staff Profile
The Teaching Principal at Tipperary Station School is Rosemary Sullivan, who came to Tipperary in 2004. The school is also staffed by a teacher’s aide and part-time cleaner.

Teaching Principal Rosemary Sullivan’s first picture book, Tom Tom, was published in 2008.
