MILIKAPITI SCHOOL...

Welcome to our School!

Milikapiti School Photo 2007

Milikapiti Community has a population of about 450. The school has an enrolment of nearly 90 students from Pre School to year 7, after which the students go to Darwin to further their education. There are five teaching staff and a number of teaching assistants helping in the classrooms. The school is set amidst well maintained grounds with locally designed murals on the walls and a Tiwi ‘Pukamani’ Pole by the entrance.

Milikapiti has a range of facilities including council offices, a club, sports oval, medical clinic, garage, art centre, women's centre, men's centre, food and supplies shop, a Catholic church and a working farm. A barge visits the Community fortnightly delivering supplies and Tiwi Travel provides a daily flight service. Recreation activities include Aussie Rules football in the wet season and cricket in the dry season. Hunting and fishing are extremely important activities with the locals all year round.

Location
