Library Resource Centre
Our library is a resource centre for students and teachers. It provides a wide range of educational materials and support for school programmes as well as opportunities for recreational reading.

Borrowing
- Student in Pre-school to Year 2
- Younger students can borrow two books for two weeks.
- Students in Year 3 - Year 6
- Older children can borrow up to four books for four weeks. If more time is needed, students are encouraged to renew their loan, instead of having overdue books.
It is also possible to reserve books that are on loan.

Library Programme
Early Childhood classes
The main purpose of the Early Childhood Library program is for the children to experience the library as an enjoyable, exciting and stimulating place.
The library program works towards two main aims
- For the students to develop a love and appreciation for literature that will assist them in becoming life-long recreational readers. Reading books to the children for enjoyment will form the basis of the library program. Children will be encouraged to borrow books from the library on a regular basis.
- For students to become information literate. This will involve children locating and using information. The focus will be on exploring the different resources that the library offers.

Middle and Upper Primary classes
The library program for older students involves CPPT (Co-operative Planning, Programming and Teaching Together). Each class from Year 3 - 6 works with the Library Teacher and their classroom teacher for 8 one-hour sessions each term over 2 or 3 weeks.
The main purpose of CPPT is
- to supplement and complement classroom programmes and
- enhance teaching and student learning by an effective use of the library.
This means using the library in a range of ways for a variety of purposes.
For example CPPT may have an Information / Research component or it might have a literature base.
The topics covered range from Film making to Inventions to Debating to Endangered Animals to name just a few. Information skills are taught in context and practiced and developed throughout school programmes.
