Northern Territory Curriculum Framework

Northern Territory Curriculum Framework (NTCF) provided by the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET) identifies learning outcomes for all Northern Territory students from Transition to Year 10.

The framework consists of the following inter-related structural components:

Learning Areas

There are 8 key learning areas:

  1. English
  2. Mathematics
  3. Science
  4. Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE)
  5. The Arts - Performing and Visual
  6. Health and Physical Education
  7. Technology and Design
  8. Languages

English as a Second Language

This component describes the way English as a Second Language (ESL) learners develop proficiency in English and includes Early Childhood/Primary and Secondary pathways.

Indigenous Languages and Culture

Includes language and culture outcomes for Indigenous Language Maintenance and Language Revitalisation programs.
