Parent School Communication
Parents are encouraged to contact the school at any time over any matters that are of concern to you.
- If you wish to speak to an individual teacher, an appointment can be made through the principal or school secretary. This time needs to be made at a mutually convenient time so that classrooms are not disrupted. Class teachers may also request an interview with you should they have concerns or require further information.
- The principal is available to meet with parents as required.
Student Progress

Stuart Park school, has a number of ways to provide parents with information about how your child is progressing at school. These include:
Parent/Teacher Evenings
These evenings are held twice yearly generally on the last Tuesday in Terms 1 and 3. The purpose of these is to discuss your childs progress. Teachers and students do a great deal of preparation for these interviews so that the information they give you is as informed and accurate as possible.
It would assist greatly if parents thought about the interview beforehand. Your observations of your children can provide useful information. It is an important time to show your child that you are supportive of their efforts and can be a positive time for all.
Student Portfolios
As the year progresses, your child and their teacher will gather relevant work samples which show how your child is progressing. These are placed in a Portfolio folder which is used at the parent/teacher communication evenings. It will become the property of the child and is a great memento of their years efforts.
Formal Reports
Written reports will be issued at the end of each semester (Terms 2 and 4). These report to the Outcomes stated in the Northern Territory Curriculum Framework and show how your child is developing.
Children transferring
Should a child transfer during the year, a progress report will be provided mainly to assist with placement in the next school.
