St. Joseph's College, is a Parish School set on 16 ha of semi-bush land bound by Lindsay Street and Maluka Road in Katherine East. The school was established in 1987 by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, with an initial enrolment of ninety students, catering for students from Transition to Year 7.

The school has expanded rapidly over the last few years to its present enrolment of over 300 students, with the average class size being 25. The multi cultural life of the NT, and the RAAF influence in Katherine is certainly reflected in the student population. The school now caters for students from Transition to Year 10.

St. Joseph's is a School community with a common vision which is centered on the person of Jesus. Staff strive to promote a climate in which Catholic values, philosophies and attitude are explicitly enacted throughout the curriculum. It is believed that in such an environment each child will come to a belief in his or her own worth as an individual, as a member of society and as a child of God.
