Day One:
All players gathered at the Parap Netball courts in high spirits, ready to play and represent their clusters. There were practice cheers to be heard and players putting team coloured ribbons in their hair and coloured zinc on their faces. The first two rounds were played and we all gathered for the opening ceremony. A fantastic job was done by Kelly Brieffies and Graham Chadwick from Larrakeyah Primary School. All teams were introduced and ready to continue on with the rest of the round robin games.
Another three rounds were played after the opening ceremony. Teams were building on momentum and those teams who hadn’t been together long were really starting to gel. There were some close games between clusters and some excellent cheering from all teams.
We all had a beak for lunch and prepared for our PD and mix ‘n’ match. Players broke into two groups and went to the Parap Pool for a recovery session. The players used underwater leg motions and resistance with the water to ease any muscle soreness and assist in recovering for the next two days play. The players then were free to use the water playground and the diving board to enjoy the pool. Players were mixing in together and showcasing their diving, bombing and parading skills to cheers from all clusters. Whilst half the group were at the pool the other half were participating in a skills session with Development manager netball NT - Casey Jess. The players participated in goal shooting, defence, footwork and centre court drills. Erin Moriarty, Student Official, also conducted an umpiring clinic based on aspects of the game.
The day was then completed with a quick closing and reminders for starting times.
A big thank you to all the umpires, especially Erin for conducting the umpiring clinic for participants as part of the skills session.
Thank you to all teams for keeping the fields and surrounds clean and tidy throughout the day.
Make sure that you continue to rehydrate throughout the day by drinking plenty of water and keep slopping on that sunscreen. Use the shade tents provided but please give the playing teams the front space and chairs.
Participants should stay away from the small shade provided for the selectors as they have a tough job to do and need this space to be free from players.

Ladder Day 1

Day Two:
Day two started with a hive of activity, the girls were all ready to go to complete their final round robin games. We saw out the last four rounds by 10.30 am and the players all had a half hour recovery session in the Parap Pool. Whilst this recovery session was happening we were organising the two Pools to compete in the competition over the next two days.

The two Pools consisted of:

POOL A
PARCS Palmerston
City Green
Rivers Desert
Desert Storm
Northern Suburbs A
City Red

POOL B
PARCS Rural
Northern Suburbs B
Storm Gold
Black Arnhem
City White

The Pool Games kicked off with a very enthusiastic start, with players vying for selection in the NT team the effort increased. There were some tight tussles again between teams and of course lots of cheering. The City White team were great support when City Red played City Green. They showed great sportsmanship by creating a human tunnel for all players to run through. It was fantastic to see teams cheering on their clusters and players from other clusters.
Each Pool played two games today. The increase from two halves to a four quarter game zapped some of the energy of the players, they had to dig deep to continue with the last games of the day. There was plenty of noise from Court 3 during the last game as Northern Suburbs were staging a fight back against City White.
The players were weary and tired as they went home and had to gear up for another day of netball and possible selections.
Thankyou to our volunteer umpires again, you did a fantastic job. A big thankyou also to Ludmilla P.S for cooking the BBQ.
