A survey of families across all Government Schools in Palmerston indicated that the main priorites of parents, students and school staff were the provision of education in a safe, innovative and supportive environment, that develops active, productive and resilient learners now and for the future. Stakeholders in the Palmerston City Schools partnership have indicated they want an educational process and philiosophy which encorages initiative, creativity, independence, flexibility and the confident use of new technologies.

The Palmerston City Schools partnership provides a unique opportunity for schools to develop a cross school culture that encourages students to value learning and innovation and demonstrate positive understandings and mutual respect for one another. The logo of the Palmerston City Schools reflects the colours of Palmerston City itself and graphically symbolizes the schools working together to support each other in all aspects of the children's education, learning and development.
