Spike and Eddie go outback! The School of the Air kids are planning our explorers' special adventure.
The Baines Cluster By Whitney Baines Cluster is one cluster out of nineteen geographical clusters at Katherine School of the Air. Clusters were formed, so when teachers came out on patrol, they can visit more than one family. Baines has approximately nineteen students who come from stations and communities in the area between Timber Creek, Carlton Hill and Bunda Station, Students in Baines cluster range from 4 to 13 years of age. Baines it the most western cluster, it got its name from the Baines River, which runs from the Victoria River near Timber Creek and runs just below Lake Argyle Baines Cluster students meet on radio for 30 minutes every Friday at 8 am. We see each other three times a year during Camp, Swim-School, In-School with all the other K.S.A students. We also have a Mini-School, for all the Baines Cluster students, which runs for five days. At Mini-School we do science, art, dancing, acting, swimming, team sports and we sleep with our friends in our swags. When Eddie and Spike arrived in Katherine they met up with Yve who told them more about the Mini Camp and where all the students live who were attending the Mini Camp. "Hey Eddie, do you think we could visit some of the students on the stations where they live?" "Wow! what a great idea Spike - lets go!"
