Millner PS wins 2007 Healthy Active National Schools Competition!
At the recent national award ceremony in Canberra, two teachers and two students from Millner Primary School were presented with the $10,000 First Prize & $2,500 Second Prize (for the state) in 2007 Healthy Active National Schools Competition. The presentation was made by the Prime Minister Mr John Howard, the Federal Minister Mr Abbott and the Member for the NT, Mr Tolmer.
These awards recognise our high impact program called 'Good Eating' that successfully promotes a whole of school approach to improving the wellbeing of our students and community.
Millner PS wins 2007 Power & Water Melaleuca Award Grant
At the recent 2007 Power & Water Melaleucka Awards held at Parliament House in Darwin, Dr Quong from Millner Primary School was presented with a $6,000 Environmental Award Grant. This was in recognition of Millner Primary School's envirnomental success in reducing the consumption of electricity by 32% in the 2006 year.
This reduction was achieved by a concerted effort by the school to reduce Greenhouse gases through a reduction in the school's use of energy.
