The Percussion project led by Ms Anne Harkin began last Thursday. The idea is to teach African Percussion basics to groups of school children representative of all thevarious cultural backgrounds found in Darwin. As well as clapping, drumming and body percussion skills - which aid coordination and confidence in general, Ms Harkin hopes the group are able to write one or two songs or chants...the words of which will come from the children themselves. |
