Student Management
Larrakeyah's Care and Conduct Policy is based on the following philosophy and beliefs. A copy of the complete policy may be obtained from the office.
PHILOSOPHY STATEMENT:
"We strive to be part of a positive learning experience by encouraging students to be successful both academically and socially. We aim to provide a safe and caring environment, which engenders a spirit of mutual respect, tolerance and co-operation."
BELIEFS UNDERPINNING THE CARE AND CONDUCT POLICY:
- We believe that each child, teacher and parent has rights which should be recognised by all of those involved within the school community.
- Related to those rights are certain responsibilities that must be recognised and accepted by all.
- It must be realised and accepted that certain consequences will occur when these rights are infringed or these responsibilities are not accepted.
- We believe that self confidence and high self esteem are fundamental to success.
- We believe that children exhibiting appropriate behaviour towards teachers and peers should at all times be noted and rewarded.
- We believe that the management of children's behaviour is a shared responsibility between home and school.
NOTE:A pamphlet summarising the contents of the Care and Conduct Policy and a pamphlet about bullying are available from the school office.
