A person's learning style is the consistent way in which a learner perceives, conceptualises, organises and recalls information - each of us has a preferred way to learn.

Not all students learn in the same way.

The more educators know about students preferred learning style the better they can cater for learning experiences.

At Larapinta we encourage students to reflect upon how they learn best and use this knowledge to enhance learning.

  • Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory is used throughout the school so that students can learn, and share their learning, in a preferred style.
  • V.A.R.K. (The four modalities was initially developed by Neil Fleming in 1987) -
    • Visual (seeing)
    • Auditory/Aural (hearing)
    • Reading/Writing
    • Kinesthic/Tactile (moving and touching)
