SCHOOL
PROGRAMS
The Curriculum at Amanbidji School continually focuses on literacy and
numeracy, student interests and needs and enhancing life skills and continues
to implement Outcome Profiles and NT Curriculum Frameworks strategies
and assessments into programs in accordance with the Northern Territory
Curriculum Framework Document.
The Teaching-Principal and staff continue to encourage and engage parents
and families in the education process, eg. local skills utilised, homework
reading, open days, excursions, visiting speaker, barbeques, etc.
The School holds ASSPA and School Council meetings each term.
The enrichment of the local Indigenous Ngarinman Language is fostered
through a language program run in conjunction with the Language Centre
in Katherine, NT.
The School organises excursions (i.e. local, interschool and interstate),
to foster and encourage social and academic skills, expand horizons and
increase self-confidence.
The School has developed successful School Report/Video evenings where
parents are able to watch students' performances, excursions, etc. after
receiving their child's report each term.
