Junior Park Rangers
During the preparation of the Fifth Management Plan for Kakadu National Park, traditional owners and other stakeholders (including local areas schools and park staff) identified the importance of teaching young people, particularly Bininj students but also other students, about culture, country and park management within Kakadu National Park.
The aim of the junior ranger program is to:
- Provide opportunities for young Bininj and non-Bininj children to learn about Bininj culture, country and national parks and their management.
- To prepare local school children with basic knowledge that will assist them to participate in school based work placement and work experience activities with Kakadu National Park or other organisations.
