Staffing
Humpty Doo Primary Special Education Annexe (SEA) is staffed
on a formula of five students to one teacher and teaching
assistant.
Purpose of the Special Education Annexe
to provide quality education programs
for students with identified special education needs who
meet the entry criteria
to provide an Individual Education
Program that
- is alternative to mainstream programs whilst still providing
for some students where appropriate, access to peer aged
students in regular classrooms
- integrates strategies planned and negotiated with input
from all relevant support professional
is regularly reviewed and revised to
meet the ongoing needs of the student.
Learning Centre
The Learning Centre is staffed by a teacher and teaching
assistant who are funded as above establishment (that is,
they are not included as part of the staff formula but are
extra positions to cater for specific student needs).
The Learning Centre caters for students
who have cognitive and/or specific learning difficulties.
The students are in mainstream classes but have access to
extra support.
