Restorative Justice

Restorative Justice at Humpty Doo Primary School is aimed at students to give them the skills to maintain healthy relationships. Restorative justice refers to structured processes designed to repair the harm and teach and encourage more socially responsible behaviours after incidents such as bullying. Children are able to express their views throughout the program in a safe environment. The program works on a set of core principals - respect, consideration, and participation. Restorative justice examples include the formal apology, the method of shared concern, restitution and community conferencing.

Information Literacy (ICT)

Humpty Doo Primary School recognises that learners need to make sense of and connect with their local and global communities. Humpty Doo Primary School has initiated a whole school learning plan which encourages children as Lifelong Learners and implements learning through technology rather than learning about technology.

Information Literacy Program which reinforces skills related to literacy using the six steps of the Information Literacy process - defining, locating, selecting, organising, presenting and evaluating. The program also explicitly teaches reading and builds on the Information Literacy Process by: gathering data and information; making decisions; answering hypothetical questions and presenting their findings to others in multimedia presentations.

Humpty Doo Primary School’s award winning Information Literacy Program has:
*
increased student outcomes in Reading specifically and Writing as evidenced in Multilevel Assessment Program.
* facilitated professional learning for all staff in ICT integration.
*expanded learning models such as SIILPS and Fertile Questions.
