TEP Teachers

Teacher of Exemplary Practice (TEP) is a status, awarded by the Northern Territory Department of Education (NTDE), for sustained exemplary teaching performance. Conferral of TEP status, determined on merit and not subject to quotas, provides increased renumeration and prestige through a career path which is an alternative to the Executive Teacher structure. As such, it is an incentive for the NTDE to retain exemplary teachers in the actual delivery and assessment of learning programs and the achievement of quality learning outcomes.
Continuous development of teaching skills in response to changing demands is central to the understandings about the TEP scheme. The demands are reflected in the scheme's benchmark descriptions and report criteria.
