Supporting research lessons
in the Library – assisting students with
search strategies, using the Internet, using the Library Catalogue, using
magazine and newspaper indexes, accessing CDROMS on the network, referencing
and preparing bibliographies, using video equipment, accessing resources
outside
the school etc.
Coordinating a reserve collection when items are in high demand
Providing reading guidance to support independent reading in English
Obtaining resources for preview and purchase
Coordinating Faculty magazine orders
Assisting with use of computers and AV equipment
Managing the School’s
textbook loans
Keeping staff up to date with new resources.
Borrowing
Staff may borrow as many books as they require
2 week loan for books and videos but extensions available on request
Lesson or overnight loan for AV equipment or computers
Interlibrary loans are available from local or interstate libraries on
request
Booking the Library
2 areas are available for use by classes every lesson. The classes booked
in have the use of the computers allocated to their area.
Booking sheets are kept at the Front Desk or phone ext.91213.
AV/Computer Services
Off-air TV taping of daytime and evening programs on request.
Access to Education Video Library.
Video cameras maintained for class use and assistance with copying and
dubbing.
Short- term loan: video cameras, OHP, slide projector and screen, multimedia
projectors, portable PA, cassette recorder. Pre booking is essential.
Some notebook computers are coordinated by the Library. Bookings, delivery
and software arrangements are made with Library staff.
Computer logons are created for staff and students and passwords are reset.
