Darwin High School Library is committed
to supporting the School’s teaching
and learning programs.
We do this by:
- Providing appropriate curriculum resources and managing their delivery to
suit teaching and learning needs.
- Providing assistance in the effective use of resources to foster the development
of our students as information literate independent learners.
- Providing a facility where teachers can conduct class research lessons and
technology based class activities with assistance from library staff.
- Fostering an enjoyment of reading and literature.
- Providing our staff and students with links to the wider library community
and access to resources from other libraries.
- Providing a learning environment which is stimulating, functional and congenial.
- Providing a forum in the school where student achievements are valued, fostered
and displayed.
- Providing a facility for students to engage in informal and independent
learning at recess, lunch and after school.
- Assisting teachers to integrate information technology into classroom teaching.
- Assisting students and staff to navigate the networked environment and trouble
shooting computer use.
