TRIBES
The Casuarina Street school community is involved in a whole school process called Tribes. Tribes aims to create a culture that maximises learning, human development and inclusivity.
Tribes is not a curriculum, nor a program or list of activities. It is a "process" – a way to establish a positive culture for learning, human development and creating an inclusive school community.
The process involves us all in making six agreements. They are:
-
Appreciations Children are shown how to give meaningful appreciations to others.
-
No Put Downs Agree not to use put downs.
-
The Right To Pass In group situations, if a person feels unsure or unsafe joining in an activity then there will be no compulsion to do so.

-
Attentive Listening Children are taught how to listen, not only with their ears but with their eyes and their heart.
-
Mutual Respect Respect for each others' feelings, ideas and thoughts is crucial in our community.
-
Achieve Personal Best Doing the best you can do in everything you do is also crucial in our community
