School Based New Apprenticeship

A School Based New Apprenticeship (SBNA) is a part-time traineeship or apprenticeship.

Students attend school while also undertaking paid workplace learning and vocational training, in order to gain a nationally recognised certificate and credit towards their Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE).

A School Based New Apprenticeship can be undertaken in a range of different industry areas.

At CSC, students’ timetables are organised so they can:
• complete the subjects they choose in order for them to complete the NTCE
• have a day or more allocated for the on the job training with the employer
• have time allocated to spend with the training provider for the off the job training.

Cas Club
A student is working towards a Certificate II in Hospitality (Operations). He completes his on-the-job training at the Casuarina Club, with off-the-job training provided by the Myriad Group.
