Admission Test (UMAT)

The Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT) has been developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) on behalf of the UMAT Consortium universities. UMAT is used specifically to assist in the selection of students into medicine and some health science degree programs at undergraduate level.

UMAT2010 will be held on Wednesday 28 July 2010.
Registrations for UMAT2010 have closed.

The UMAT2010 Information Booklet The booklet provides general information about the structure and content of UMAT, how to register, registration fees, test centre locations, and other information. Alternatively, contact the UMAT Office or the College Career Advice Centre to obtain a hard copy of the UMAT2010 Information Booklet and registration form.

The following universities use UMAT in their selection process for medicine and other health sciences courses:

  • Griffith University - oral health (dental science, dental technology, oral health therapy)
  • Monash University - medicine, pharmacy, pharmacy/commerce
  • The University of Melbourne - medicine, dental science, physiotherapy, oral health therapy
  • The University of Newcastle - medicine
  • The University of New South Wales - medicine
  • The Univesity of Queensland - medicine (Year 12 conditional entry)
  • University of Tasmania - medicine
  • The University of Western Australia - medicine, dentistry
  • The University of Western Sydney - medicine
  • The University of Auckland (New Zealand) - medicine
  • The University of Otago (New Zealand) - medicine, dental surgery
