The Library at Casuarina Senior College provides access to a wide range of resources and services. Apart from the large book and journal collections, online access is provided to electronic reference material and subscription databases from the library computers and all internet access points throughout the College via the library intranet page.

An experienced professional library staff provides assistance and guidance to patrons in meeting their information needs. All students are welcome to use the library facilities and resources. However payment of the $100 book deposit is required before students can borrow items. This deposit is refunded when students leave the College provided that all items on the student's borrowing record have been returned to the library.

Student Facilities & Services
The following facilities are available for your use:
30 computers provide student access to the internet, the library catalogue, online subscription databases and resources. Students must adhere to the code of conduct in the "Acceptable Use Agreement" that all students have signed on enrolment. Any problems with computer access please see the library staff.
. Digital and video cameras are available for short term loan. These items are for curriculum related work only and require a note from the class teacher to authorise borrowing.
. Production of student ID cards.
. Photocopying - Cost 10c per page. Free copying of Reference and Vertical File materials.
. Silent study area
. Seminar room
. Tea, coffee and refreshments provided after 3.30pm at a cost of 50c per serve.
. Telephones located in stairwell.

Borrowing
Your barcoded CSC student card is your library card and you cannot borrow without it. Apart from library books and periodicals students may also borrow cassette recorders and digital cameras including video cameras. When borrowing cassette recorders and cameras students must return these items by the due date, failure to do so will result in loss of borrowing privileges for these items. All text books are issued through the library for either semester or whole year loan.

Faculty text books - 1 year
Closed reserve - 2 hours during the day or overnight from 3 pm.

The following are not available for borrowing but may be used and photocopied at no cost in the library.

Please note that your CSC student card is required for access to some of these items.

Renewals
Loans may be renewed on or before the due date, provided the item has not been reserved by another borrower. Students can renew items from the library catalogue page by going to the "Patron Login". The patron id is the barcode on your student id card. The password for all students is csc (small letters). Only one renewal per item is permitted.

Library Overdue Items
The first and second notice regarding overdue library items will be sent to student's school email. Bills will be posted to the student's home address.

Inter-Library Loans
An inter-library loan may be requested if the item you require is not available in our library.
