Canteen Creek Community is located south east
of Tennant Creek in Australia's Northern Territory. The
Community was established in the mid eighties by an aboriginal
man who has since passed away. Canteen Creek is a friendly,
dry and clean community with comparatively modern facilities
for its short period of existence. Canteen Creek has a
population of 200 to 300 people.

Canteen Creek is accessible by road and by air. The
airstrip is good. By road Canteen Creek is around 260km from
Tennant Creek - 180km of which is dirt road, part of the
Davenport Ranges National Park road.
The road is rough but good in most places. However in the
Wet Season [October till May] roads can be cut off quickly as
rivers fill. The Frew river can take days to go down.
