Welcome to Braitling Primary School

Vision and Values:

At Braitling Primary School , we believe that all students have the ability to succeed in an inclusive, safe and caring environment. Staff will work cooperatively with the school community and each other to set and achieve appropriate targets that reflect high expectations.

Braitling Primary School is located on the northern side of Alice Springs (map) next door to the Alice Springs School of the Air. With a population of almost 30,000 inhabitants, Alice Springs is the second largest town in the Northern Territory . It lies close to the Tropic of Capricorn, or Southern Tropic, which is one of the five major centres of latitude that mark the maps of the Earth. The town is known as Mparntwe to its traditional people, the Arrernte, who have lived in Central Australia for more than 50,000 years. Alice Springs is the town in the title of the Nevil Shute novel “A Town Like Alice”.

Alice Springs, or “the Alice ” is 576m above sea level and is equidistant from Adelaide (the capital city of South Australia ) and Darwin (the capital city of the Northern Territory ). It is the closest regional centre to Uluru (Ayers Rock) which is approximately 443 km away. The town has a modern airport, excellent road system and can also be reached by taking the famous Ghan train which runs from South Australia through to Darwin
