About Us

Our Community

The majority of our school community families live on rural blocks in the Berry Springs area.
The majority of parents take a keen interest in their child’s education with over 90% parents attending Twilight School Evening and good attendance at Parent Teacher conferences.
We have little difficulty in employing suitable local people for positions such as tutors and Inclusion Support Assistants. These people provide such valuable support to the students in our school.
We welcome members of the community into our school. There are many opportunities for this e.g. School Council, assisting in classes, sharing expertise with students, fundraising activities.
Our local MLA, Ted Warren, Member for Goyder, is a regular visitor to the school.
We have very good relationships with the Territory Wildlife Park and the Berry Springs Recreational reserve and regularly make use of their facilities.
We have a close relationship with Taminmin High School, the school most of our students go on to for the Middle Years of Schooling. Members of the Wellbeing Team from Taminmin are available to support our school when required.
Berry Springs School is part of a group of schools in the area called the Rural Area Alliance Schools. This group includes Taminmin High l, Humpty Doo Primary, Bees Creek Primary, Girraween Primary and Howard Springs Primary. The schools work together in such areas as applications for funding for special programs, sharing professional learning opportunities, and sharing expertise, resources and ideas.
We are also a member of a larger group, the Palmerston and Rural Cluster Schools (PARCS). This group work together on shared goals to improve outcomes for students in the region. Our students regularly take part in a variety of competitions – sporting and academic – organised by PARCS. Schools also join together for professional learning opportunities for staff.
