Northern Territory Curriculum Framework

Northern Territory Curriculum Framework (NTCF) provided by the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET) identifies learning outcomes for all Northern Territory students from Transition to Year 10.
The framework consists of the following inter-related structural components:

Learning Areas

There are 8 key learning areas:

  1. English
  2. Mathematics
  3. Science
  4. Studies of Society and Environment (SOSE)
  5. The Arts - Performing and Visual
  6. Health and Physical Education
  7. Technology and Design
  8. Languages

The Essential Learnings
EsseNTial Learnings are central to all teaching and learning. These lay the foundation for connected life long learning.
They are divided into four areas:

The teaching and learning in these curriculum areas are supported by targeted intervention programs and several specialist teaching positions.

Learning Technology

Learning Technology enables students to use computers and their peripherals. It provides links to all the Learning Areas and EsseNTial Learnings and is integrated throughout the curriculum.
