Parents are encouraged to contact the school at any time over any matters that are of concern to them.
If you wish to speak to an individual teacher please make an appointment. The time needs to be made at a mutually convenient time so that classrooms are not disrupted. Class teachers may also request an interview with you should they have concerns or require further information.
The Principal and Assistant Principal are available to meet with parents as required.
These evenings are held twice yearly in Terms 1 and 3. The purpose of these is to discuss your child’s progress. Teachers do a great deal of preparation for these interviews so that the information they give you is as informed and accurate as possible.
It would assist greatly if parents thought about the interview beforehand. Your observations of your children can provide useful information. It is an important time to show your child that you are supportive of their efforts and can be a positive time for all.
As the year progresses, your child and their teacher will gather relevant work samples which show how your child is progressing. These are placed in a Portfolio folder which is used at the parent/teacher communication evening in term 3.
Written reports will be issued at the end of each semester (Terms 2 and 4). These report to the Outcomes stated in the Northern Territory Curriculum Framework and show how your child is developing.
Parent school communication is also facilitated through:
School Assemblies
The school newsletter will let you know when these are on.
