OVERVIEW OF TASKS

There are 3 steps to your project:

Group task

Each person in the group chooses an era :
  • Era 1:1950s -60s
  • Era 2:1970s - 80s
  • Era 3:1990s to present day and completes the tasks related to that era through exploring internet links. As a group compare and contrast the different eras and decide which activities must be included in the 3 day holiday extravaganza.

    Creating and Presenting a your 3 day holiday "Stockman Extravaganza" as a slideshow presentation (Powerpoint / Hyperstudio/ Impress ).

    Comparing your findings will help your group make decisions about whether a stockman's job has changed for better or for worse over the last 50 years. You will then be able to choose the activities you think young people would most like to experience. (Think about - who is the holiday for?)


    In researching this topic you need to consider the following:

    • Why do people like the outback?
    • What would make a good holiday for 10 to 15 year olds?
    • What sort of stock activities should be included?
    • The changes in technologies and how these have affected living and working conditions.
    • How much hardship would you want to include in the holiday?
