PE (Physical Education)

A Specialist PE teacher provides weekly lessons to classes throughout the school. In addition, Sports Development Officers frequently visit the school to run clinics on various sporting activities. The large covered basketball courts and assembly area allow for lessons both in the dry and wet seasons.

The Physical Education Program covers team games, athletics, gymnastics and fitness.

Students 10 years and older have the opportunity to participate in 'Try Days'. On these days students participate with children from other schools 'having a go' at a range of sports. Usually a regional sports team is selected on these days for participation in intra territory exchanges.

A swimming program is offered to all students from Transition to Year 6. In Term 2 the Twilight Sports Carnival is a highlight of the school's sports calendar.

Bakewell Primary also supports student involvement in after school sports activities.
