Welcome to our School

Anzac Hill High School is situated in the heart of Alice Springs in Central Australia.

Anzac Hill High School offers a safe, caring environment, in which we challenge all of our students to produce their best. Our place is small and contained. The benefits are that students are easily supervised and yet able to “find their place” in our yard and on the oval. Being small, has definite advantages for our students aged 11 - 15.

A prime aim is to ensure that all the people who work here, whether students or staff, have a personally successful time in our school. We are very keen to endorse students’ goals and to assist them to examine their future possibilities as they continue to develop and grow. We encourage parents to contribute to the parent, student, and teacher partnership because we believe that together we can do great things. Maintenance and development of the self-esteem of all is foremost in our thinking.

Our structures ensure students are able to work at levels, which suit group and individual progress. Our staff support collaborative team building practices as students learn more about cooperation and working within our community of learners. A high degree of support is available for students who require extension at all levels, as well as those with those with special needs. Our work with Accelerated Literacy is acclaimed for its success.

Parents are able to contribute formally and informally to school life. School Council and Anzac Student Leaders with Council Action Teams provide formal channels. There are many opportunities for parents to come into our classrooms, join in, observe or just have a chat. Of course we will welcome you to working bees, fundraising activities, and most importantly to 3-way chats

We are continuing to use middle school practices and to provide programs that cater for a diverse range of interests. We accept that prior knowledge is different for all and seek to encourage and challenge all students to join in and surprise themselves into doing something they never thought they could. We believe we have a place for you and your children at our place.
