Atnwengerrp Annex of Irrultja Homeland Centre.
Atnwengerrrp is in a very small community on the bank of the Sandover River 50 km South East of Ampilatwatja. It has a population of 20 adults and 10 choldren. The are all one family and they take special care of each other.
The school is an annex of Irrultja. The elder of the community lobbied hard to have this school as his family value school education. The school opened in a converted house with all new equipment in February 2003.
A visiting teacher travels from Ampilatwatja Monday to Thursday to work alongside the assistant teacher. The chldren, ages 4 to 11, are all very keen to learn and enjoy doing their school work.
