Self Learners
Self Learners incorporates children from years 5 and 6. It caters for individual students’ needs. Students take an active part in negotiating and designing their learning. Teachers collaboratively plan the program.
Self Learners recognises that students are becoming more independent and are forming good relationships with their peers. Students from this group are expected to take on leadership roles within the school. This is a proud achievement for both the students and the school community.
Building positive relationships is a big part of being a Self Learner. We work collaboratively and learn about other students. Our main focus is mutual respect, respect for ourselves and respect for others.
Wednesday Workshops
Each week we have specialist classes. Self Learners are divided into three mixed year levels and they do either - Science, Drama or Technology and Design. Each programme runs for 5 weeks and the students will complete all rotations before the end of first semester.
