Alawa Preschool Staff
Our dedicated staff work hard to create a stimulating, challenging, safe and rich learning environment that is warm, supportive and fun-filled. They focus on the child when planning, looking at developing or extending the child’s skills and knowledge and following their interest areas; stimulating the children’s love of learning and making their learning more meaningful to them.

Sharon has been working in the Early Childhood field since the early 80s. She has worked in a range of children’s services but her passion is working in preschool. Sharon is extremely creative: She creates games, songs, poems and stories for and with the children, focusing on their many and varied interests. She has presented storytelling workshops and performances both nationally and internationally and has written two books on storytelling, each containing 16 stories; her stories have even appeared on Playschool! She has been nominated for the National Teacher of Excellence Award in NT and NSW. She is extremely committed and has a great sense of fun and humour!
