Your child needs to bring each day:

  1. Large Bag or Back Pack - large enough to easily fit all their belongings and the art and craft work that they will be taking home.
  2. Hat - In keeping with the school’s sun safe policy children will be required to wear a hat during outside time and on any trips away from the preschool.
  3. Library Bag - The children are encouraged to borrow books from our library. Sharing books and reading to children provides an excellent foundation for children learning to read as well as language development. The use of a library bag is a way to help children develop care and respect for books.
  4. Morning Tea/Lunch - Children need to bring a healthy morning tea and lunch. These need to be packed in a lunch box with easy to handle and eat food. It is preferable to pack a little extra food in case your child gets hungry. We encourage healthy eating habits: sandwiches, fruit, carrot sticks, cheese, muesli bars, savoury/plain biscuits and dried fruit are all encouraged and we discourage chocolate, chips, cakes, lollies, fairy bread and other ‘junk foods’.
  5. Water Bottle - Your child requires a water bottle. We encourage you to fill it with water rather than cordial or juice.
  6. Shoes/Sandals - Children are required to wear footwear to preschool for safety reasons. We recommend firm-fitting sandals or runners that the children are able to take off or put on by themselves.
  7. Change of clothes - children may need to change their clothes due to soiling them or wet/messy play. Please send a change of clothes with your child each day.
  8. PLEASE NAME YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS

Children at preschool paint, play with sand, water, clay and dough. They may garden and dig soil and from time to time pursue other wet and messy activities. These activities are designed to meet the emotional, intellectual and creative needs of your children, but they may be reluctant to participate if they are dressed in clothes which spoil easily. Ordinary, easily laundered play clothes (shorts and T-shirt, cotton dresses, jeans and overalls, cotton shirts etc.) are the best gear for preschool.
